Apartment instructions
Ventilation and heating
The apartment’s ventilation unit is located on the bathroom ceiling. There is a home-away switch on the side of the unit. Use the away (Poissa) setting if you will be absent from the apartment for an extended period, such as over the weekend. When you are present you should use home (Kotona) setting.
The kitchen hood filters odors with an active carbon filter and recirculates the air into the apartment. Using the kitchen hood enhances the apartment’s ventilation.
The apartment has water-circulating underfloor heating, which can be adjusted separately in the living area and bathroom.
Cleaning and maintenance of wall and floor surfaces
Regular cleaning of the apartment according to the instructions extends the life of materials. Cleaning is also easier when dirt is prevented from becoming embedded.
Windows
Household appliance instructions
Familiarize yourself with the user manuals of household appliances before using them.
Fire alarm
The apartment is equipped with a fire alarm that’s connected to the power grid. Do not attempt to open or remove the alarm. It can be cleaned with a damp cloth and vacuumed with a soft nozzle. The alarm should be tested regularly. If the alarm is triggered unnecessarily, it can be silenced for ten minutes by pressing the test button.
Internet
Your apartment has Elisa fiber optic internet. See VOAS instruction videos for detailed setup instructions.
Electrical panel, fuses, and lamps
The apartment’s electrical panel is in the hallway of the apartment. For detailed instructions, including the operation of the automatic fuses, refer to the user manual for the electrical panel.
VOAS is responsible for the operation of the integrated ceiling light in the apartment. The tenant is responsible for replacing the lamps and starters in other fixtures within the apartment. For detailed instructions, refer to the user manuals for the bathroom mirror cabinet and kitchen hood.

Storage spaces
Apartment storages are in the outdoor building. Storage units are numbered according to the apartments. Residents must provide their own lock for the storage space and ensure that it is emptied, and the lock removed upon moving out. Flammable chemicals must not be stored in these spaces.
Sauna and laundry room
Merikulma’s sauna and laundry room are located at the Pihapetäjä, address Wolffintie 11. Property information is available here. Booking calendars can be found here.
Locks
The building and apartments use the iLOQ S5 locking system. The front door on the first floor has an electronic reader that opens the door when the key fob is shown to the reader.
Other external doors can be opened in the same way as apartment doors.
Study & Chill common spaces
VOAS residents have free access to Study & Chill common areas. Learn more about these spaces here.
Property information and emergency plan
Basic information about the property and the emergency plan can be found here.
Recycling
There is a recycling point in the yard for sorting waste. Please sort your waste properly; recycling is good for the environment, and by recycling correctly you will help keeping the waste disposal costs down. Waste disposal costs affect, for example, the rent of the apartments.
You can find Stormossens’s recycling instructions here.
