VOAS invests in energy efficiency and environmental responsibility

Over the past two years, VOAS has made significant progress in the energy efficiency and environmental responsibility of its properties. Our aim is to reduce energy consumption, reduce our carbon footprint and improve the living comfort of our residents. To achieve these goals, we have taken concrete measures:

🏢 Replacement of district heating substations – We replaced old systems to ensure energy efficiency and reliability in the use of district heating. To ensure that our district heating systems are up to date and reliable to guarantee our energy efficiency and to ensure that we maintain and improve the quality of our energy supply, we usually also install new radiator valves and thermostats when replacing the sub-distribution centers. The heating network is also rebalanced.

⚙️ Modernization of building automation systems – We have upgraded systems to modern standards and added automation where it was not available before. This allows more precise control and optimization of the equipment in the buildings.

🌡️ Intelligent underfloor heating thermostats – Themo smart thermostats have been introduced in some apartments and in all communal bathrooms and washrooms with electric underfloor heating. This solution helps to minimize unnecessary energy consumption and ensure that underfloor heating works as designed and structures stay dry.

🔧 Pilot project with smart radiator thermostats – We have launched a pilot project with DNA Wattinen smart radiator thermostats at one of our properties to test the impact of the new technology on energy savings and living comfort.

☀️ Solar and geothermal reviews – We have carried out feasibility reviews of solar panels and geothermal heating in our properties to ensure that the solutions we are considering are sustainable and beneficial in the long term. The first solar panels will be installed in 2025.

📊 Energy audit – The energy audit carried out at two of the most energy-sensitive sites has provided valuable information on the energy use of the property and potential areas for improvement.

💨 Pressure differential-controlled extractor fans – We have introduced pressure differential-controlled extractor fans in some of our properties. These extractors control the airflow according to the needs of the property, improving the energy efficiency of ventilation and reducing excess energy consumption. At the same time, they ensure better air quality and living comfort.

With these measures, VOAS continues its strategic work towards more environmentally responsible living and energy efficiency. We thank all our partners and residents who are involved in supporting this development!
